The implementation of the government’s flagship initiative, Agenda 111, is progressing well, with nearly 70 percent of the projects at various stages of completion, as stated by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He noted that despite the skepticism surrounding his administration’s capacity to undertake such a significant project, he has demonstrated his critics wrong with almost 70 percent of the hospitals nearing completion, even with less than a month remaining in his term.
President Akufo-Addo made these remarks in Accra yesterday during a meeting with representatives from various trade unions as part of his appreciation tour in the Greater Accra Region.
The unions represented at the gathering included the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Health Services Workers Union (HSWU), Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), Civil and Local Government Staff Association Ghana (CLOGSAG), and the Industrial and Commercial Workers Union (ICU).
Additionally, the Railway Workers Union (RWU), Cocoa Research Workers Union (CRWU), Timber Workers, Ports and Allied Workers Union (TWPAWU), and Teachers and Education Workers Union (TEWU) were also present.
President Akufo-Addo emphasized that the upcoming elections would provide Ghanaians with a crucial opportunity to decide whether to uphold the extensive policies of his administration, including Agenda 111, which aims to enhance healthcare services in the nation.
He clarified that while the major projects initiated by his government may not immediately translate into direct financial benefits for individuals, they serve as significant indicators of transformation.
In advocating for Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, President Akufo-Addo urged voters to carefully evaluate the policies of all candidates, particularly those of the two leading contenders. He raised concerns regarding former President John Dramani Mahama’s failure to present a clear roadmap for the future.
