Former Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan, has indicated his readiness to consider an offer to become the running mate to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia if the chance presents itself.
During an interview on Onua TV, Gyan mentioned that accepting such a “privilege” would be a challenging decision to make, despite recognizing that the rumors circulating about this potential opportunity are unfounded.
Gyan made it clear that while he is dedicated to utilizing his expertise and wisdom to contribute to the progress of sports in the nation, there has been no formal proposal made to him to collaborate with Dr. Bawumia.

Gyan serves as the head of the Sports Sub-Committee under Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s manifesto committee. His role involves assisting the NPP Presidential Candidate in developing a comprehensive sports manifesto for the upcoming December 7 elections.
Recently, he initiated the All Regional Games, a new multi-sport event aimed at showcasing the country’s sporting talents. A regional tour is set to kick off on Tuesday, April 16 and will continue until the following month in preparation for the national championships
