Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Communications for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s Campaign Team, has urged the people of Ghana to remain vigilant and not be deceived by the deceptive tactics, falsehoods, and propaganda of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
During the inaugural session of the Bawumia Campaign Team’s engagement with the Ghanaian public, known as The Next Chapter Series, Aboagye, a charismatic spokesperson, reminded Ghanaians about the familiar strategies employed by the opposition party and advised voters not to unquestioningly believe the NDC’s lies.
The lies and propaganda being churned out today by the NDC were similar to what they peddled against the NPP in the run-up to the 2008 presidential elections. They took advantage of the economic situation around that time and told lies to Ghanaians, and that is how come they won the 2008 elections.
The few challenges that bogged down the John Agyekum Kufuor administration, and the NDC used propaganda schemes to deceive Ghanaians into voting for them. They went as far as printing fake banking statements of Kufuor’s ministers and went round the country to preach them to the masses.
Their current General Secretary, (Fifi Fiavi Kwetey) published outright fabrications in his newspaper, the Lens, that President Kufuor and his ministers had stolen all the gold bars at the Bank of Ghana, thereby emptying the vault at the Central Bank. Despite all the wonderful achievements of President Kufuor’s administration, a section of Ghanaians bought into those lies and voted for the NDC.
Miracles Aboagye emphasized that Fiifi Kwetey and his associates were exposed for their falsehoods during their appearance before the vetting committee.
They were unable to provide evidence to support their claims, which was evident in a video that was played. Furthermore, Miracles Aboagye pointed out that Fiifi Fiavi Kwetey, who had previously lied about the John Agyekum Kufuor administration in 2008, now holds the position of General Secretary in the NDC party.
This same party is seeking the support of the Ghanaian people using the same lies and propaganda. Dennis Miracles Aboagye highlights that a competent leader, during times of crisis, collaborates with the people, motivates them, and guides them through difficulties. Conversely, an ineffective leader lacks these qualities.
Whenever NDC is in opposition, they ride on the ills at the time, misrepresent and exaggerate them and build on the emotions of the people so that they can get power, and when they get power, the consequences were what we witnessed in 2016’’ he added.
I can tell you on authority that the NDC will employ the same old, obnoxious lies and fabrications as the 2024 elections get close. We should, therefore, be careful not to fall for their antics and stale propaganda as we approach this year’s elections.
Taking advantage of the moment, he seized the opportunity to implore the voters to maintain the New Patriotic Party in power, with Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia as their chosen leader.
