Three communities in the Ga-Dangbe area have been given various items to support their Homowo celebrations.
The donations, which took place yesterday, were presented by Greater Accra Regional Minister Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover on behalf of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
This marks the latest in a series of contributions aimed at assisting paramountcies, households, and Wulomei in the Ga-Dangbe area since the start of the Homowo festival.
The donated items include boxes of Castle Bridge, bottles of water, soft drinks, crates of alcoholic beverages, sacks of maize and palm nuts, gallons of palm oil, and unspecified amounts of money.
The Minister was joined by Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Chief Executive Elizabeth Tawiah Sackey and other leaders. The recipients include the family gates in Osu, the La Traditional Council, and the five clans of Teshie.
Items for the Osu families were handed out at the Obra Spot at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, while those for the Teshie clans were delivered to the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly for distribution.
Mr. Titus-Glover explained that this support is part of the government’s effort to uphold cultural traditions in the city.
