BAWUMIA DONATES LAPTOPS AND CANES TO PWDs AT LEGON

Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the lives of persons with disabilities (PWDs) by donating customized laptops and white canes to students at the University of Ghana.

The donation, presented on his behalf by Lydia Seyram Alhassan, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, took place at the newly established Center for Disability Studies and Advocacy on campus.

At the event, the MP reiterated Dr. Bawumia’s pledge to introduce free tertiary education for PWDs if he is elected President in the upcoming December 7 elections.

She highlighted that this initiative is a key component of his campaign, aimed at promoting inclusivity and ensuring equal access to education for all Ghanaians.

Dr. Peter Ndaa, Director of the Center for Disability Studies and Advocacy, expressed his gratitude for the donation, noting its significance in enhancing the educational experience for students with special needs.

He assured that the logistical support, including white canes and customized computers, would be effectively utilized to benefit the students.

This gesture reflects the NPP’s broader vision of fostering a more inclusive society where PWDs can excel, particularly in higher education.
