Senior Advisor to the President, Yaw Osaafo Marfo, has showered praise on the presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as the most truthful and honest politician he has encountered in his years of political involvement.
Speaking at the Oda Lorry Station during Dr. Bawumia’s visit to the constituency as part of his campaign tour of the Eastern Region, Yaw Osafo Maafo said that in his entire political career, he has never seen a politician as truthful and honest as Dr. Bawumia.
He described Dr. Bawumia as a rare gem who must be cherished, emphasizing that Ghana needs the NPP flagbearer more than he needs Ghana.
Mr. Osafo Maafo urged the electorate to retain the NPP in power, citing the example of developed countries that had long-serving governments or presidents to achieve their development goals.
Look at countries like Singapore, China, and the United States—they all had long-serving leaders who drove their development agenda. We must learn from their example and give the NPP the chance to continue their good work,
He also addressed the initial skepticism surrounding Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy, saying:
Some people doubted whether the NPP would allow a Muslim to lead the party, but today, we have seen the party prove them wrong. This is a testament to the NPP’s commitment to inclusivity and meritocracy.
The former MP for Akyem Oda Constituency, Mr. Osafo Maafo warned that voting back the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into power would spell retrogression for Ghana.
He emphatically stated,
We cannot afford to go back to the days of economic mismanagement, corruption, and stagnation. The NDC has had its chance, and it failed. It’s time to move forward with the NPP and Dr. Bawumia.
Dr. Bawumia’s visit to Oda is part of his ongoing campaign tour of the Eastern Region, where he has been meeting with traditional leaders, party faithful, and the general public to share his vision for Ghana’s future.
