DR. BAWUMIA URGES GHANAIAN YOUTH TO BELIEVE IN POSSIBILITIES AHEAD OF CRUCIAL ELECTIONS

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on Ghanaian youth to embrace a mindset of possibility and believe in their potential to achieve the extraordinary as the country prepares for a pivotal election in three months.

In his address to the audience at the Bawumia Youth Connect event in Ayawaso West Wuogon, part of his constituency-focused tour, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of believing in what many consider impossible. He highlighted the significance of the upcoming election in shaping the future of Ghana and the role of the youth in that journey and further  urged the youth to have faith in themselves as individuals and as a nation,

This election that we are going to be building in three months’ time is a pivotal election for our future. I want all of us to enter the future with a mindset of possibility

We have to believe that it is possible to do many things that people consider impossible.

Dr. Bawumia cited examples from the NPP’s track record to reinforce his point. He referenced the introduction of the Free Senior High School policy, which faced skepticism but has since become a reality that has benefited many Ghanaians.

When we voted on the idea of free senior high school, there were many, including the former president [John Mahama], who said it was not possible but we said it was possible

He also mentioned the government’s ambitious Agenda 111 project to build 111 hospitals, a move initially met with doubt. However, he noted that most of the hospitals are now over 75% complete, demonstrating that, “It is possible.” Dr. Bawumia further pointed out the digital transformation agenda, particularly the successful issuance of 18 million Ghana Cards, which has placed Ghana at the forefront of digital identity in Africa.

Dr. Bawumia reiterated his call for belief and action among the youth, encouraging them to take on challenges and make a difference for themselves and the nation. As Ghana heads into the 2024 elections, his message is clear: a future of possibilities is within reach, but it requires courage, determination, and a belief in the impossible.
