NDC’S CLAIMS ON VOTERS’ REGISTER ARE BASELESS PROPAGANDA – JUSTIN FRIMPONG KODUA

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged Ghanaians to look past the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) claims about the 2024 voters’ register, as the opposition failed to provide any concrete evidence during an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on October 1.

The meeting, hosted by the Electoral Commission (EC) at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, was intended to address concerns about the accuracy of the voters’ register. The NDC had previously alleged that the register was inflated with ineligible voters, leading to nationwide protests on September 17. However, the NPP pointed out that, despite the severity of these accusations, the NDC did not present any verifiable proof during the session.

NPP General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, speaking after the meeting, questioned the opposition’s approach, emphasizing the lack of evidence behind their claims. He further added that the NDC shifted the focus to irrelevant topics instead of addressing the allegations they raised.

All of you [the media] were here. Tell me, in all the presentations made by their [NDC’s] representatives, at what point did they present any evidence? Did they give us the data they referenced? None

“They shifted to irrelevant matters, talking about a leaking roof and mopping the floor. Is that why we are here? We came here because of the serious allegations they made. Why did they back out? Why is the NDC backing out?”

The NPP reassured the public that the voters’ register remains credible and urged Ghanaians to focus on the upcoming elections rather than be swayed by baseless claims.
