Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin, in his remarks, highlighted that these regions frequently lack the essential infrastructure and support necessary for their prosperity.

The Okyenhene advocated for effective decentralization accompanied by strengthened local governance. He posited that this strategy would not only enhance governance but also create job opportunities and foster economic growth in rural areas.

By prioritizing rural development, the Okyenhene contended that Ghana could attain more equitable and inclusive economic progress, ensuring that all regions share in the nation’s advancements.

Furthermore, the Okyenhene underscored the importance of Ghanaians taking responsibility for their resources and playing an active role in national development.

He urged citizens to engage in the nation’s advancement, fostering a united effort towards sustainable progress. Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin commended Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh for his bravery in responding to President Akufo Addo’s initiative to implement the Free SHS policy.

The Okyehene remarked that Dr. Opoku Prempeh and the NPP have commendable plans for the nation, asserting that while traditional leaders are prohibited from engaging in partisan politics, he will consistently support candidates who contribute positively to society.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, for his part, recounted the discussions he had with the President regarding the Free SHS policy during the election petition, noting that had the party assumed power in 2012, the policy would have been initiated, despite skepticism from various quarters, including some NPP officials.

He expressed confidence that his interactions with the constituents of Abuakwa South and Fanteakwa North would significantly influence the electoral prospects of the New Patriotic Party.
