THE SAFETY OF THE FREE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL INITIATIVE RELIES ON DR/ BAWUMIA’S ADMINISTARTION – KENNEDY AGYAPONG

Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, the Member of Parliament representing the Assin Central Constituency and former Flagbearer of the NPP, has urged Ghanaians to place their confidence in the party’s 2024 Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the upcoming December elections.

He emphasized that this choice is the most reliable means of ensuring the continuation of the Free Senior High School policy. He highlighted the significance of education for both individuals and society, drawing from his own experiences to illustrate his point. He remarked that without education, he would not have achieved his current status.

He also noted that some of his former classmates, who faced financial barriers to furthering their education, continue to struggle financially. The Assin North legislator and prominent business figure made these statements on Thursday, October 31st, 2024, during an event where he joined the NPP Vice Presidential Candidate, Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, to engage with traders and market women at the Presby Church-Nii Boiman in the Okaikwei North Constituency, as part of their campaign efforts in the Greater Accra Region.

Kennedy Agyapong reminded the public of the historical stance of the NDC and their presidential candidate, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, against the free SHS initiative, asserting firmly that the policy would be at risk under a Mahama administration.

A political party [NDC] that vigorously campaigned against Free SHS can certainly not be trusted with the future of the policy. The surest way of protecting Free SHS is for Ghanaians to vote for H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP in the December polls.

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh expressed his support for Hon. Ken Agyapong’s appeal to Ghanaians to refrain from voting for the NDC.

He pointed out that the candidate, John Mahama, had financed over 47 advertisements opposing the Free SHS initiative and noted that Mahama had publicly stated that if he possessed GHc2 billion, he would not allocate such funds to Free SHS.

Furthermore, Dr. Prempeh emphasized the government’s efforts to alleviate the cost of living and reassured traders that the forthcoming administration under President Mahamudu Bawumia would introduce additional business-friendly initiatives aimed at further decreasing the cost of doing business and enhancing their quality of life.

In closing, he urged the traders to cast their votes in large numbers for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah, to ensure the prosperity of the Okaikwei Constituency.
