A young boy from Zongo has confidently expressed his support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to NDC veteran Alhaji Said Sinare and his sister, citing his positive experience with the government’s Free SHS initiative.
In a widely circulated video that has garnered admiration for the boy, he dismissed the Sinares’ attempts to dissuade him from endorsing Dr. Bawumia and the NPP.
The Sinares, including the former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia during Mahama’s presidency and his sister, questioned the boy, who was proudly adorned in a Bawumia t-shirt, about what the NPP had done to earn his support.
The boy’s candid response left the Sinares embarrassed in front of a large audience. The following is a transcript of their exchange: Sinare: What has the NPP done for you? Please share your thoughts.
Young Boy: Our grandparents and parents have been loyal to the NDC, but I have not seen any benefits from the party.
Sinare: We are currently in opposition, so we are unable to effect change. I would like to know, as you wear this man’s t-shirt (gesturing to Bawumia’s image), what has he done for you?
Boy: He has done everything for me… I have benefited from free education.
