AKUFO-ADDO CRITICISES MAHAMA OVER LACK OF ROADMAP ON 24-HOUR ECONOMY

President Nana Akufo-Addo has expressed his disapproval of former President John Mahama and the NDC candidate for their inability to present a definitive strategy regarding the proposed 24-hour economy policy, just five days prior to the December 7 election.

He indicated that Mahama’s failure to outline a detailed plan for the policy raised significant doubts about its practicality and potential effects on the economy. President Akufo-Addo attributed Mahama’s defeat in the 2016 elections to the four years of his administration’s performance.

He predicted that Mr. Mahama would face another loss in the 2024 elections. While addressing a gathering in Dambai, President Akufo-Addo remarked that every president before him, with the exception of Mahama, had been granted a second term, attributing Mahama’s electoral defeat to his unsatisfactory performance, which left Ghanaians dissatisfied.

He also questioned Mahama’s commitment to the 24-hour economy, referencing the power crisis that occurred during Mahama’s presidency. The President urged Ghanaians to reject Mr. Mahama in the forthcoming elections, citing issues of trust and the potential risk to the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

Akufo-Addo asserted that Mahama’s return to power would threaten the advancements achieved by his administration, particularly in the field of education.

He expressed concerns regarding Mahama’s reliability, which he believes is rooted in the record of his previous administration, characterized by inadequate performance and unmet commitments.

In a sincere appeal, he urged Ghanaians to place their trust in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s candidate, in the upcoming elections on December 7, 2024.

Vote for Bawumia and the NPP’s parliamentary candidates in the nine constituencies in the Oti Region will be a vote for continuity, growth and a brighter future for Ghana.
