Under the Great Speech, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia outline several policies and initiatives designed and tailored to tackle all the sectors in the country. These Bold Solutions will seek to address the issues and problems in the country serving as lasting Panacea Ghanaians have been waiting for. Under the Agricultural sector, Dr. Bawumia outlined these six unique initiatives to tackle the issues affecting the sector.
1. Attain food security through the application of technology and irrigation to commercial large-scale farming.
This policy will tackle the issue of food security by applying technology to make it simple and easy. Dr. Bawumia’s digitalization policies looks to impacts almost all the sectors of the country. This policy will aid in food sustainability and also help in production and distribution of nutritious foods needed to improve our lives.
2. Promote the use of agricultural lime to reduce the acidity of our soils, enhance soil fertility and get more yield from the application of fertilizers.
This Policy seeks to aid in enhancing soil fertility and to allow for the production of more foods. The policy looks to promote the use of agricultural lime which will reduce acidity of our soil and improving water penetration in acidic soils. improving the absorption of prime nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) in plants growing in acid soils.
3. Create Special Economic Zones in border towns
This initiative will be created in order to facilitate rapid economic growth by leveraging tax incentives to attract foreign investment and spark technological advancement.
