Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and NPP presidential candidate, has received recognition for changing Ghana’s political climate with his exceptional manners and communication style.
Speaking at the book review of “Dr. Bawumia and the Modern Vice Presidency,” which took place at the Islamic University on Friday, Professor Etse Sikanku, a communications lecturer and consultant, gave Dr. Bawumia credit for greatly lowering the derogatory and impolite culture in Ghanaian politics.
“Dr. Bawumia is a decent politician, and he has demonstrated that throughout his political career, especially now as a Presidential Candidate,” Prof. Sikanku stated. “He is decent in the way he communicates and handles situations, even when provoked, and this has helped to reduce tension in the country.”
Dr. Bawumia’s courteous tone has changed the political conversation in Ghana, Prof. Sikanku emphasized, establishing a good example for others to follow.
“What the leader does, his tone is very important, and Dr. Bawumia has changed the political landscape by demonstrating consistent decency,” Prof. Sikanku noted.
The lecturer also commended Dr. Bawumia for his hard work, citing several impactful initiatives led by him during his tenure as Vice President. Prof. Sikanku praised Dr. Bawumia as Ghana’s most influential vice president, drawing comparisons to former US vice president Walter Mondale, who elevated the mostly ceremonial position of the vice president to one of influence.
