BAWUMIA’S BALLOT POSITION SECURES VICTORY AND SIGNALS DEFEAT FOR MAHAMA.

The ballot positions for the upcoming general election on December 7th have been revealed, and the 13 presidential candidates vying to continue the legacy of H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo can now tailor their campaigns based on their ballot numbers.

While a ballot position alone doesn’t guarantee victory, it provides a psychological and strategic advantage. With the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, securing the number one spot, his prominence on the ballot is heightened. This position enhances his visibility to voters, reinforces his image as a leader, and is likely to influence voter decisions in his favor. It also simplifies campaigning for NPP parliamentary candidates, aligning their efforts with Dr. Bawumia’s leadership.

On the other hand, former President Mahama, the flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was placed eighth on the ballot. This disparity between his ballot position and that of the NDC’s parliamentary candidates could lead to confusion, complicating their messaging and weakening their campaign efforts. As a result, this may contribute to Mahama’s defeat.

Furthermore, the fact that Mahama landed in the eighth position is seen by some as a sign that Dr. Bawumia’s rise to the presidency is destined. H.E. Nana Addo made Mahama Ghana’s only living one-term president, and Dr. Bawumia is set to break the “8-year cycle” by defeating a former president running on the opposition ticket for the second time, potentially signaling Mahama’s political retirement.

Dr. Bawumia’s dynamism is inspiring both current and future generations. Under his leadership, Ghana has experienced major strides in digitalization, financial inclusion, and infrastructural development, particularly with the implementation of the DRIP, one of his key initiatives.

Dr. Bawumia stands out as the best candidate to lead Ghana into the next chapter, and his ballot position at number ONE reinforces this.
