CHAIRMAN WONTUMI PLEDGES TO DELIVER MIRACLES, ENSURING AN 85% SUCCESS RATE.

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has confidently guaranteed a decisive victory for the party in the upcoming elections.

In his role as campaign manager for the region, he pledges an 85% triumph, citing his track record and unwavering determination as pivotal factors.

His assurance aligns with Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s assertion that the NPP aims to secure 85% of the votes in the Ashanti Region during the presidential election on December 7.

Chairman Wontumi attributes his strategic leadership and past successes as credentials that qualify him as a “miracle worker” capable of achieving ambitious goals.

In the upcoming elections, the NPP will secure 85% of the votes from the Ashanti Region. As campaign manager, I guarantee this outcome. I have a track record of turning the party around from opposition to victory,

he confidently asserted during an interview with Nana Yaa Brefo, host of Yen Nsempa on Onua FM on July 15.

Responding to persistent claims by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former President John Mahama regarding ownership of the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy, Chairman Wontumi strongly refuted their assertions.

He denounced the claims as “blatant lies,” accusing them of trying to appropriate President Akufo-Addo’s and the NPP’s accomplishments.

Using a vivid analogy to illustrate his point, Chairman Wontumi asked rhetorically,

If someone declares they will build a house but doesn’t follow through, and then their child builds it instead, can you say the original person built the house?

He asserted that Mahama’s assertions lack credibility, underscoring that it was Akufo-Addo who effectively implemented the Free SHS policy, not Mahama.

Chairman Wontumi raised doubts about Mahama’s failure to implement the Free SHS policy during his presidency, especially considering favorable conditions such as abundant oil resources and the absence of a global pandemic like COVID-19.

Why couldn’t he do it when he didn’t have to face COVID-19?

Wontumi questioned. He commended President Akufo-Addo’s efforts, highlighting that despite numerous challenges, Akufo-Addo achieved significant milestones, such as subsidizing water and electricity bills for Ghanaians during the pandemic.

Despite the challenges Akufo-Addo encountered, he stands alone as the president who subsidized Ghanaians’ water and electricity bills. This is unprecedented in Ghana’s history, Chairman Wontumi emphasized.

He went on to criticize Mahama for what he saw as inconsistency, pointing out the irony that Mahama benefited from free education himself but did not extend this opportunity to Ghanaians during his presidency.

Mahama did not initiate the Free SHS policy, so let’s refrain from spreading falsehoods. Ghanaians deserve the truth,

he asserted.
