DR. BAWUMIA INTRODUCES CITIZENAPP TO IMPROVE PUBLIC SERVICE DELIVERY

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has officially introduced CitizenApp, an innovative mobile application aimed at enhancing public service delivery and fostering citizen engagement in Accra.

The CitizenApp is intended to serve as a comprehensive platform for accessing a range of government services, reporting concerns, and obtaining real-time updates on public issues. This application is tailored to provide a personalized experience for all Ghanaians, facilitating improved access to various government services while delivering crucial information in real-time.

Additionally, it is anticipated that the app will optimize interactions between citizens and government entities, thereby increasing efficiency and transparency in processes.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized the app’s capacity to simplify procedures, diminish bureaucratic hurdles, and promote greater transparency and accountability within governmental functions.

What Ghana has done many advanced countries have not yet done it. So we are moving in a direction that has major opportunities…Once the system comes in doing business in Ghana will be very easy and smooth, paying taxes will be very easy, getting your passport, will be very easy, registering a business is very easy.

It is going to make life easier for the citizens and this system also allows the government to communicate with the citizens. This is an exciting development in our digitalisation journey.

The launch event saw the participation of prominent government officials, leaders from the technology sector, and members of the general public.
