GHANA’S PROSPECTS WILL IMPROVE WITH THE NEW PATRIOTIC PARTY IN GOVERNANCE – DR. BAWUMIA

The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has asserted that Ghana would experience significant benefits if the NPP remains in power.

He pointed out the party’s comprehensive policies aimed at enhancing the living standards of Ghanaians and promoting business development.

During his campaign at the Kaneshie market in Okaikoi South, Dr. Bawumia articulated his vision for the country’s future. He proposed a flat tax policy in cedis that would apply to all goods, along with a tax amnesty to facilitate interactions with the Ghana Revenue Authority.

These initiatives, he noted, are intended to improve the general welfare of the population and encourage economic progress. Dr. Bawumia also highlighted the NPP’s dedication to supporting small enterprises and empowering women traders, with plans to create a Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) bank and a fund for women’s trade empowerment.

Moreover, he announced plans to eliminate import duties on mobile phones, extend the duration of driving licenses to ten years, and repeal the e-levy. He further committed to providing the youth with essential digital skills.

Dr. Bawumia called on voters to back his candidacy for the presidency, emphasizing that his rival, former President John Dramani Mahama, would lack sufficient time in office to be fully accountable.

In contrast, Dr. Bawumia assured Ghanaians that he would take responsibility over an extended term if elected.

We are implementing a new directive to reform the import regime at the Port, including a flat tax policy in cedis for all goods, making Ghana’s import duty competitive with neighbouring countries like Togo. We are also launching a women’s bank and an SME bank to provide financial support to women traders.

Moreover, we will introduce a tax amnesty to eliminate confusion with the Ghana Revenue Authority and remove import duties on mobile phones. We will also extend driving licenses’ validity to 10 years, abolish the e-levy, and offer digital skills training for the youth. Voting for former President John Dramani Mahama will only guarantee four years of accountability, but by voting for me, you can expect longer-term accountability.
