Renowned Nigerian Hausa singer, Maryam Fantimoti, has released a special campaign song in tribute to Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Fantimoti, celebrated in Zongo and Hausa communities for her exceptional talent and melodious voice, created the song to honor Dr. Bawumia’s significant contributions as Vice President and his unwavering support for humanity.
The song, titled *Bawumia Ikon Allah* (Bawumia God’s Wonders), will debut on Iqra Radio 103.7 FM during their morning show on Monday, September 15, 2024.
Blending energetic beats with traditional Hausa drums, the song’s lyrics celebrate Dr. Bawumia’s work in Zongo communities, emphasizing his role in educational development, including the construction of classrooms and scholarships for 40 bright but needy students studying medicine in Cuba.
Fantimoti also praises Dr. Bawumia’s generosity towards individuals and communities, highlighting his efforts to build and renovate mosques.
Despite being Nigerian, Maryam Fantimoti is widely popular in Zongos, especially among Hausa speakers, thanks to her strong ties with Ghana’s Zongo communities.
Her hit song *Jigida* (meaning beads) remains a favorite among Hausa-speaking audiences in Zongos.
