The Chief of Nkwantakese in the Amenfi East Constituency of the Western Region, Nana Ntori-Bonkyi Akomea, has urged Ghanaians to support Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in his bid to lead the nation.
Nana Ntori-Bonkyi Akomea commended Bawumia for his exemplary performance as Vice President and expressed his belief in Bawumia’s capability to assume the presidency.
During Dr. Bawumia’s campaign visit in Asankragua, the Chief remarked that the upcoming 2024 election will feature a contest between two candidates from the Northern region, namely Dr. Bawumia of the NPP and former President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He encouraged Ghanaians to favor Bawumia, highlighting that Mahama has already held the presidential office.
This election is going to be between two Northerners. We know one of them, the old one because he has had his chance,” the chief remarked. “The other Northerner is new, having only served as a ‘mate’ [Vice President], and now he is asking us to hand him the steering wheel. We’ve seen him take the wheel a few times, and he’s proven he can drive smoothly. So why not give him a chance to drive the car?
Let’s give him a chance because he has shown that he’s capable, based on the work he’s done as the driver’s mate.
Nana Ntori-Bonkyi Akomea commended Dr. Bawumia as the most outstanding Vice President in the history of Ghana, asserting that he merits the opportunity to ascend to the presidency in order to further his impactful contributions.
We have seen many Vice Presidents in this country, but you are unique. You have done so well.
The chief expressed appreciation for the development initiatives undertaken by both Dr. Bawumia and President Nana Akufo-Addo within the community. Additionally, he urged Dr. Bawumia to ensure the completion of the ongoing projects in the region upon assuming the presidency.
I’m not saying ‘if’ you win. I believe you’ve already won by the grace of God, so I’m saying ‘when’ you become President.
