MANHYIA SOUTH NPP CHAIRMAN REVEALS ALLEGED NDC ‘EVIL PLOT’ FOR 2024 ELECTIONS

Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori Atta, Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Manhyia South Constituency, has expressed concerns about alleged plans by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to incite chaos during the upcoming December 7 elections.

In an interview on Okay FM on Thursday, October 31, 2024, Ofori Atta alleged that former President John Mahama and the NDC are encouraging their supporters to engage in violent actions, including ballot box snatching at polling stations.

We need to draw the attention of Ghanaians to the fact that the NDC wants to plunge the nation into violence. The NDC should understand that Ghana does not belong to any one party; it is for all of us. No political party should be allowed to destroy the country, which is why I issued the red alert. The security services need to be vigilant

His remarks came after a similar warning he issued on Accra-based Angel FM on October 30, suggesting that the NDC’s low-profile campaign may indicate a hidden agenda for the elections.

In contrast, Tom Tom emphasized the active campaigning efforts of NPP leaders, including Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Prempeh, alongside their wives, Samira and Alma.

He pointed out that party Chairman Stephen Ntim and General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong are also deeply involved in grassroots campaigning.

The NDC has been in politics long enough to know that when they are not campaigning, it suggests they are planning something diabolical

He further stressed that elections are won at the polling stations and questioned what results the NDC expects if they are not actively campaigning.

Tom Tom further accused the NDC of orchestrating various demonstrations, including those against illegal mining, arguing that such tactics have been ineffective.

He criticized Mahama’s current campaign as shallow, noting that the former president has failed to explain why Ghanaians rejected him in both the 2016 and 2020 elections.

Highlighting Bawumia’s record of 33 impactful initiatives, Tom Tom claimed Mahama struggles to identify even three significant policies from his presidency.

He also criticized Mahama’s previous opposition to the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, calling it disingenuous for him to now pledge improvements if re-elected. Tom Tom concluded by urging Ghanaians to reject the NDC, calling them “nation wreckers” and affirming that the NPP is committed to national development.
