NAPO IS A ‘PERFECT FIT’ FOR BAWUMIA- FIIFI BOAFO

Fiifi Boafo, spokesperson for Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Mahamudu Bawumia’s running mate, has described him as the ideal support for the vice president in the upcoming elections.

Speaking on AsaasePa’s Atumpam political show on Thursday, September 26, Boafo highlighted Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s strong track record in public service, particularly during his time as education minister. He pointed out Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s vital contributions to the successful rollout of the Free Senior High School (SHS) program, despite facing challenges like the double-track system.

He is an achiever and results-driven, and he will deliver, Boafo remarked, lauding Dr. Prempeh’s resilience in ensuring the program’s sustainability for students across the nation.

Boafo elaborated that Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s consistent performance in various government positions made him a unanimous choice for the running mate role. He noted that Bawumia, recognized for his meticulous leadership style, saw in Dr. Prempeh the qualities that would enhance his own, improving the party’s prospects for the 2024 elections.

Describing Bawumia as “the best vice president” Ghana has ever had, Boafo praised his leadership in advancing key government initiatives, particularly the ongoing digitalization efforts. He highlighted the significant progress made in sectors such as governance and public service as a result of these projects.

Boafo also mentioned that Dr. Prempeh has already commenced his campaign, visiting over 70 constituencies and engaging with a range of stakeholders, including traditional leaders, farmers, and market women. He emphasized that these interactions are part of the NPP’s strategy to customize policies for essential sectors and foster dialogue with citizens about the party’s future initiatives.

In addition to recognizing Dr. Prempeh’s contributions, Boafo commended outgoing President Nana Akufo-Addo for his major initiatives, including the Petroleum Hub, which is projected to create 780,000 jobs, and the Agenda 111 project, aimed at generating 70,000 employment opportunities.
