NDC ANGRY AS DEFEAT LOOMS – BAWUMIA STRIKES BACK

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has taken a direct shot at his opponents, stating they have lost confidence in winning the upcoming elections and are now driven by anger as defeat approaches.

On Monday, after submitting his presidential nomination forms to the Electoral Commission at its Ridge Office in Accra, Dr. Bawumia addressed supporters and officials at the NPP Headquarters, confidently reflecting on the current political climate.

About a year ago, our opponents were very confident. Today, rather than confidence, they are filled with anger as they watch defeat closing in,

Dr. Bawumia commented with a knowing smile.

His comments are widely seen as a pointed critique of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, who is vying for a return to the presidency after two defeats in 2016 and 2020 to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Despite the NDC’s vocal confidence about securing victory in 2024, Dr. Bawumia’s remarks signal that the NPP is prepared for a tough campaign, centered on its accomplishments over the past eight years and its vision for the future.

Dr. Bawumia has consistently promoted his plan for transforming Ghana’s economy, improving infrastructure, and raising living standards. He also highlights his contributions as Vice President, particularly his role in programs such as Free SHS, the National Identification System, and the Digital Address System.

As the election draws nearer, the contest between the NPP and the NDC is intensifying. Both parties are rallying their bases, with each side confident of victory. However, Dr. Bawumia’s recent comments reflect the NPP’s focus on its track record and future plans, unfazed by the NDC’s claims.

With the campaign season fully underway, voters can expect heightened rhetoric and fierce competition from both parties as they vie for support.
