The National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Program, Hajia Safia Mohammed, has called on all school feeding caterers to actively support Dr. Bawumia’s bid for the presidency.
She stressed that only an NPP government can ensure the effective and progressive management of the school feeding program.
Hajia Safia Mohammed noted the significant increase in the feeding grant, which has risen from GH 0.70 to GH 1.50 per child since the NPP took power, crediting this improvement to President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo.
Her comments came during a visit from the Caterers Association of the School Feeding Program at her office in Accra.
She assured caterers that a Bawumia presidency would bring further enhancements to the program and announced that plans are in place to secure funds for their 3rd term arrears.
The caterers’ association leadership praised the National Coordinator for her effective and forward-thinking leadership since assuming her role.
They acknowledged that, historically, caterers’ associations were often viewed as pressure groups that opposed the secretariat. However, they emphasized a shift in perspective, expressing their commitment to unity and collaboration.
The caterers affirmed their support for the secretariat and the government, recognizing the importance of working together to create a more effective and sustainable school feeding program.
By fostering this collaborative spirit, they aim to build a stronger foundation that benefits not only the caterers but also the children who rely on these vital services. This new approach reflects a collective desire to improve the program and ensure its long-term success for all stakeholders involved.
