Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has successfully concluded the second phase of ‘The Possibilities Tour’ across five northern regions of Ghana.
The tour commenced in his home region, the North East Region. He initiated the campaign with a focus on the Nalerigu/Gambaga, Yunyoo, and Bunkpurugu constituencies, engaging with enthusiastic party members and ordinary citizens who resonate with his vision for the future of Ghana.
Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to the traditional leaders, including the Nayiri, Gbintiri Naaba, Yunyoo Rana, and Bunkpurugu Naaba, for their gracious hospitality during his visits to their palaces.
On the second day of his constituency-focused campaign, he interacted with the chiefs and residents of the Chereponi and Mion constituencies, where he received tremendous support from his followers, particularly the youth, who braved the rain to demonstrate their commitment to the goal of ‘breaking the eight.’
The NPP flagbearer continued his engagements on the third day by visiting the Kpandai, Wulensi, and Bimbilla constituencies. During these meetings with chiefs, key stakeholders, and the youth, he emphasized his role as a catalyst for change during his tenure as Vice President, asserting that he would achieve even greater accomplishments as President if entrusted with the leadership of the nation.
His tour also included visits to the Tatale/Sanguli, Zabzugu, and Yendi constituencies, where he received enthusiastic support for his vision of national development.
He highlighted the importance of harnessing the potential of the youth alongside well-conceived policies and programs to elevate the country.
The warm reception in the Gushegu, Karaga, and Nanton constituencies further affirmed that his commitment to an issues-based campaign is a promising strategy for success.
Karaga took the lead by breaking ground for the construction to begin on Ghana’s inaugural tertiary-level training institution dedicated to preparing educators specifically for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education.
Upon completion, the Namburugu STEM College of Education will serve as the main provider of teachers for the STEM Schools established by the government nationwide. The initial stage of the development is projected to finish by November’s end this year.
As a government, we remain committed to a comprehensive STEM programme that will prepare our youth for the future.
He carried on with his constituency-focused campaign tour in the Northern Region, spreading a sense of optimism and potential in Savelugu, Tamale North, and Sagnarigu.
The people of the north have embraced my vision of building a modern Ghanaian society fueled by a mindset of possibilities, and capable of conforming to the trends of the 4th Industrial Revolution.
