TRUMP HAS A RECORD OF ACCOMPLISHMENT, WHILE JOHN MAHAMA UNDERPERFORMED AND LACKS A CLEAR MESSAGE – SAMUEL SARKODEE

In a recent discussion on Asaase Radio’s prominent talk show, “Press Pass,” Samuel Sarkodee, widely recognized as Sam Sarks and the former Chairman of the NPP-USA Columbus Ohio Chapter, delivered a strong critique of Ghana’s opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), for its association with Donald Trump’s recent political resurgence.

Mr. Sarkodee cautioned that the NDC’s enthusiasm would not translate into success in Ghana’s upcoming December 7th elections, forecasting that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would maintain its governance due to its ongoing economic policies and achievements.

During the Zoom interview, Mr. Sarkodee expressed astonishment at the NDC’s willingness to connect with Trump’s success in the United States, indicating that the two contexts are not directly comparable.

It is very mindboggling and surprising that the NDC is trying to claim victory with President Donald Trump and attempting to draw comparisons. This is something they shouldn’t even try.

He additionally contended that associating the NDC with Trump’s achievements fails to consider the unique political circumstances present in both Ghana and the United States. In referencing previous elections, Mr. Sarkodee noted that even in the wake of Trump’s defeat in 2020, the NPP continued to hold power in Ghana.

In 2016, Donald Trump won, and NPP also came into power. Even in 2020, when Americans decided to change leadership due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NPP held on to power.

Mr. Sarkodee posits that a significant element contributing to Trump’s resurgence is his performance regarding the U.S. economy, which he believes parallels the economic achievements of the NPP in Ghana.

During Trump’s administration, the American economy saw considerable growth; jobs remained in the country, and economic stability was emphasized.

He further articulated that Trump’s policies starkly contrasted with those of former Ghanaian President John Mahama, whom he held responsible for various economic difficulties, including the energy crisis referred to as “Dumsor” and the halting of allowances for teachers and nurses.

Shifting focus back to Ghana, Mr. Sarkodee remarked that the current NPP administration, led by President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has managed to maintain economic stability despite the prevailing global challenges.

The NPP government has successfully managed the economy through a global pandemic, a feat that most governments struggled with worldwide.

Mr. Sarkodee highlighted that Ghanaians face a distinct decision, forecasting that they are likely to support the NPP once more, owing to its persistent commitment to economic advancement, digital transformation, and developmental projects.

Ghanaians will elect Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to continue the good work of President Akufo-Addo and further develop his own initiatives, particularly digitalization, which is critical for economic revival.

As Ghana approaches its elections on December 7th, Mr. Sarkodee expressed his belief that the NPP’s achievements in economic management and modernization initiatives will be crucial for its electoral success. Conversely, he characterized the NDC as failing to present a clear and persuasive message to the electorate.

As the election date approaches in a matter of weeks, Mr. Sarkodee’s statements highlight the NPP’s assurance in obtaining another term, grounded in its economic performance and stability measures, despite the opposition’s efforts to leverage global political changes.
