The National Service Scheme (NSS) has initiated a recruitment drive for National Service graduates and unemployed youth to serve as volunteers for six months, addressing the pressing issue of youth unemployment in Ghana.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This decision follows a significant number of applications received from the youth, reflecting their eagerness to contribute to national development. The recruitment will span various sectors, including sanitation, teaching, agriculture, and health, aligning with the Government\u2019s broader initiatives to promote environmental health and tackle sectoral challenges.<\/p>\n

In a statement released in Accra on Thursday, July 18, the NSS emphasized the importance of leveraging the enthusiasm and skills of young volunteers to support community and development projects. The scheme aims to provide meaningful opportunities for graduates and unemployed youth, fostering their involvement in national development goals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe recruitment will focus on various models includin<\/strong>g sanitation, teaching, agriculture, health and other sectors aligned with the Government\u2019s efforts to promote environmental health, cleanliness, and sustainable development,\u201d the NSS stated.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This initiative is part of the NPP government’s ongoing efforts, spearheaded by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to create sustainable employment opportunities for the youth. The government has been keen on addressing the unemployment crisis through various programs and policies aimed at economic growth and social development.<\/p>\n

An online application system will soon be operational on the Scheme\u2019s website to streamline the selection process. The NSS encourages spreading awareness about this opportunity among potential candidates in different regions and districts, and providing necessary guidance and support throughout the application process.<\/p>\n
