Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has formally submitted his nomination to participate in the presidential election scheduled for 7 December at the Electoral Commission (EC) headquarters.
Following the submission of his nomination on Monday, 9 September, Bawumia conveyed his assurance of achieving success in the upcoming December elections.
Historically, I think Ghana is in a very enviable position as far as the conduct of elections is concerned. And I believe that Madam Chair and your team will live up to it. But let’s pray and continue to pray for God’s blessings for the Electoral Commission.
I also pray for God’s blessings for the New Patriotic Party, myself, and my team so that we will emerge victorious in this election. And then at the end of the day, we inherit a peaceful country, and this process reinforces the democratic traditions of Ghana.
We are very proud of our democracy and we need to reinforce it and continue, to improve on it. I want to thank you, madam, chairperson, and your team for the kind and warm reception.
The presidential candidate of the NPP expressed that the submission of his presidential nomination form held significant historical importance for him.
For me, it is a very historic opportunity to submit these forms for the first time as a presidential candidate. I want to pray for God’s blessings for our dear country Ghana.
