Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, has advised Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to show deference to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate.
He also emphasized the importance of ensuring that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate, never regrets choosing Dr. Opoku Prempeh as his running mate for the upcoming 2024 general election.
Otumfuo delivered these remarks at the Manhyia Palace during the official introduction of Dr. Opoku Prempeh as Dr. Bawumia’s running mate, urging him to remain loyal, attentive, and compliant to the presidential candidate.
Don’t let Dr Bawumia regret selecting you as his running mate. Don’t ever let him regret that. Be humble and submissive to him.
Do only what he teaches you to do. Train him [Napo] and when he goes wrong, tell me and I will advise him.
The New Patriotic Party is set to introduce Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (also known as Napo) as the NPP running mate today at Jubilee Park in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.
This announcement comes after the National Council of the NPP confirmed Napo as the running mate to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
