SERVICE POLICIES

Under the Great Speech, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia outline several policies and initiatives designed and tailored to tackle all the sectors in the country. These Bold Solutions will seek to address the issues and problems in the country serving as lasting Panacea Ghanaians have been waiting for. Under the Service sector, Dr. Bawumia outlined these three unique initiatives to tackle the issues affecting the sector.

 

 

1.Expeditious allocation of spectrum

This policy will aid in the process of regulating the use of the electromagnetic spectrum and dividing it among various and sometimes competing organizations and interests. Spectrum is a critical national asset that underpins modern telecommunications and wireless technology. Its economic relevance and socio-economic impact are significant, and its prudent utilization can bring substantial benefits for a nation and its citizens and so measures will be put in place to make sure the allocation spectrum is done speedily and with efficiency.

2.Reduce the cost of Data by working with industry players in setting clear policy guidelines that will remove any investor uncertainty and difficulties in business planning.

Under this policy measure will be put in place to collaborate with industry place to brainstorm on several ways to improve business operations while attracting more investors. This initiative also seeks to put mechanisms in place to reduce the cost of data to ensure smooth running of businesses in the country.

4. An e-visa policy for all international visitors to Ghana to enable visas to be obtained in minutes subject to security and criminal checks.

This policy looks to make the visa application process faster and more convenient and simplifying the visa-issuing process for international visitors.

3.National Rental Assistance Scheme improvement

In partnership with the private sector, measures will be put in place to drastically improve the Scheme which is already providing low-interest loans to eligible Ghanaians to enable them pay rent advance. This initiative will address the age-long rent advance problem, instituting an innovative solution to enable eligible Ghanaians pay rent on a monthly basis.
