Vice President and Flagbearer for New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia indicated that his new tax systems will see to the eradication of corruption in the Business Community.
Speaking to members of the Ghana Union of Traders, Association on Friday, on the various policies he will implement to enhance growth, stability and development in the Business Community, he revealed that he will introduce a new tax policy that aid will in making the payment of taxes for business simple and easy.
He added that this tax system will make easy for traders by giving them the opportunity to check and know the exact amount to pay as tax for their business which will promote honesty and clarity and thus ensure the eradication of corruption from the industry.
The tax system is a flat rate of tax. if it is 10% it is 10%, everyone knows. And everyone can calculate for their tax and then pay. it’s that simple. if we do things this way it will allow for transparency, thereby eliminating corruption
Dr. Bawumia also stressed on the fact that the tax system in Ghana has been malfunctional and such Ghanaians should accept and embrace the new tax system that will ensure transparency, eliminate corrupt and make the payment of tax easy and simple for all traders.
Our tax system from independence has not being working, it creates room for corruption. So I am bringing on board a new tax system to Ghana. The flax tax system.
Dr. Bawumia also emphasized on the fact that the positive feedbacks and concerns of the association are prominent and his government will make sure to address them and also make certain these tax policies will be implemented to establish a conducive atmosphere to operate their businesses.
