His Excellence President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo has urged the Muslim Community to believe in Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia because he will enhance the benefits of the Zongo Development Fund Project.
Addressing the Muslim Community during celebration of the Eid yesterday, he encouraged the Zongo communities to believe and trust Dr. Bawumia as he will put measures in place to improve upon the project. He implores the community to be equitable to ensure progress and growth.
I have no doubt that he (Dr. Bawumia) will continue to work with you to enhance the benefits of the fund for the development of Zongo communities. I plead with you to uphold the principles of inclusivity for the equitable development of the country.
He urged the Muslim community to establish mechanisms that will strengthen the project, enabling them to eventually take ownership of it, while also relying on external aid from the government.
I hoped that residents of Zongos would own the Fund, and leverage the support of the government to attract external support for the fund, rather than it becoming a wholly-government-funded initiative. I am urging you to show a heightened sense of interest in the development of the fund so that we can grow it for successive generations of Zongo people.
