DR. BAWUMIA ENGAGES ROBERT BEUGRE MAMBE ON COCOA PRODUCTION

Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has disclosed that the visit of His Excellency Robert Beugre Mambe, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire is to have a mutually beneficial discussion on the area of cocoa production.
Vice President, Dr. Bawumia hosted H.E. Robert Beugre Mambe at the Jubliee House yesterday in the quest to have fruitful conversation on the issue of cocoa production.
Dr. Bawumia highlighted that the Cote d’Ivoire-Ghana Cocoa Initiative’s Headquarters inauguration is imminent, emphasizing the countries’ determination to work together in order to promote extensive cocoa production through the Initiative.
Ahead of the inauguration of the Headquarters of the Côte d’Ivoire-Ghana Cocoa Initiative, I had the honour of hosting H.E. Robert Beugré Mambé, Prime Minister of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, at the Jubilee House this evening, for mutually beneficial discussions on the ongoing cooperation between our two countries, especially in the area of cocoa production.
He also emphasized that the objective of the initiative is to enhance the income of cocoa farmers in both countries by ensuring fair and sustainable prices for their produce.
The Côte d’Ivoire-Ghana Cocoa Initiative is to give full meaning to the Abidjan Declaration of 26 March 2018, in which the Presidents of Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana reaffirmed their willingness to define a common sustainable cocoa strategy, with a view to increasing the prices received by cocoa farmers in their respective countries in a sustainable way.
President Akufo-Addo and his Ivorian counterpart, His Excellency Alassane Ouattara, will collectively unveil the headquarters that will accommodate the Secretariat of the Initiative in Accra on Thursday, the 18th of April, 2024.
