Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has emphasized the importance of fostering a robust alliance with religious organizations in Ghana.
During his visit to the Eastern Region on Monday, April 29, Dr. Bawumia addressed both Christian and Muslim leaders in Akropong. He acknowledged the substantial contributions made by faith-based groups towards the progress of the nation and stressed the need to acknowledge them as valuable partners in development.
I want us and a faith-based organization to have a close relationship; a development-based partnership just like any of our external partners.
If you look at the work the faith-based organizations have done for Ghana in terms of infrastructure like schools and hospitals, it is better than whatever our development partners have given.
Dr. Bawumia also mentioned that his administration intends to establish rewards to foster a mutually advantageous partnership with religious organizations, emphasizing the importance of collaboration.
we are going to give incentives to faith-based organizations for them to be able to help Ghana more. My government is going to give a lot of incentives to assist the faith-based group to help government more…There is going to be a golden age between the government and faith based organizations.
Dr. Bawumia’s Regional tour commenced with the meeting held in Akropong, which involved various religious groups.
