Koku Anyidoho, a Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s choice to kick off his campaign for the 2024 elections before revealing his running mate is appropriate.
Mr. Anyidoho emphasized the importance of Dr. Bawumia establishing his presence before revealing his running mate, stating that from a strategic standpoint in politics, it is highly logical for Dr. Bawumia to initiate his campaign and gain recognition before making any announcements regarding his choice of running mate.
From a politically strategic perspective, it makes lots of sense for Dr. Bawumia to kick-start his campaign as Flagbearer & establish his presence before naming his running mate.
In a post on his X page, he revealed that ensuring the running mate always remains second in command was a carefully considered decision made to prevent any unforeseen surprises.
So that, ad infinitum, the running mate shall always be Number 2 with no “funny ideas”. Smart move.
