The Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been honored by the Overlord of Gonjaland, Yagbonwura Bi-Kunuto Jewu Soale, for his support and contributions to the development of Gonjaland.
During a meeting with the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs in Damongo, the Yagbonwura, who is also the President of the Regional House of Chiefs, expressed deep appreciation to Dr. Bawumia for his substantial contributions that have led to the rapid development of the Savannah Region.
You are one of the illustrious sons of the Gonja kingdom. You have paid your dues and I believe the relationship that existed between you and the Kingdom will further be enhanced…You played your part in the development of the kingdom. You are my son and consider yourself as a son of Gonjaland. May your dreams be fulfilled.
Dr. Bawumia was highly praised by the Yagbonwura for his immense assistance during his inaugural celebration.
It is proper, once again, to appreciate you for your immense support and invaluable contribution towards my first anniversary celebration this year. To the general public, I extend my profound gratefulness to you for your contribution and support in making sure the first anniversary celebration became an outstanding success.
Dr. Bawumia was honored by the Yagbonwura with a symbolic smock of appreciation, 100 tubers of yam, and a bull as a gesture of gratitude for his notable contributions.
Additionally, in November of the previous year, the Yagbonwura bestowed upon Dr. Bawumia the esteemed chieftaincy title “Konukolewura,” which signifies his dedication towards fostering unity and inclusivity.
