THE CANADIAN RELIGIOUS AND CULTURAL COUNCIL PRAISES DR. BAWUMIA FOR HIS COMMITMENT TO PROMOTING RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and flagbearer of the NPP, has been praised by the Canadian Religious and Cultural Council (CRCC) for his commendable display of respect towards tolerance and religious diversity.

On Sunday, May 26, 2024, the CRCC, an international organization dedicated to promoting peace, diversity, and cultural preservation, organized an event at the Miracle Arena for All Nations in Ontario, Canada.

Dr. Bawumia, along with other esteemed guests, was invited to attend. The ceremony, which attracted an inter-denominational audience and individuals from more than 40 different nations, focused on the importance of peace and tolerance. Dr. Bawumia’s presence in the church auditorium served as a remarkable illustration of religious tolerance.

Dr. Bawumia’s deep understanding and recognition of religious diversity was praised by other speakers at the event, including the Head Pastor of the church, Prophet Dr. Kofi Danso.

The Canadian MP, who expressed his knowledge of Dr. Bawumia, also commended him for his exceptional leadership in implementing policies that have a positive impact on the Ghanaian nation.

During his speech at the ceremony, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of peace in human existence, emphasizing that without tolerance and respect for diversity, peace cannot be achieved. He extensively discussed Ghana’s internationally recognized peace and attributed its success to the country’s respect for religious diversity.

Peace is the foundation of our existence in the world. Without it, there will be no existence…Ghana is a very peaceful country. The second most peaceful country in West Africa and one of the most peaceful on the African continent. People wonder what is the secret? The secret is Ghana’s religious tolerance and inter-faith dialogue.

Ghana is the country where the national Chief Imam visits the church as he celebrates his birthday. Ghana is also a country where priests find it comfortable to be in mosques with their Muslim brothers and pray for the nation. This is the sort of society we are building in Ghana in terms of inter-faith and respect for one another.

Dr. Bawumia reassured the crowd that Ghana will not overlook its peace and will persist in maintaining the principles that have contributed to its tranquility. Dr. Bawumia guaranteed the spectators that Ghana will not underestimate its peace and will uphold the values that have led to its peaceful state.
