LARGE RALLIES ARE NOT IMPORTANT WE SHOULD SUPPORT DR. BAWUMIA’S GRASSROOTS DOOR-TO-DOOR STRATEGY –

A prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commended Vice President Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s approach to the 2024 election campaign and has urged the NPP to support this new strategy of engaging with voters and promoting the flagbearer’s ideas, policies, and visions directly to them.

Nana Obiri Boahen, a former Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, dismissed the significance of traditional political rallies, stating that they have become irrelevant and a waste of resources.

He emphasized that voters today are more discerning and well-informed, capable of making informed decisions about their choices. Therefore, it is wise for the NPP to back Dr. Bawumia’s campaign strategy, which aims to provide better information and understanding to the electorate, enabling them to appreciate his vision for the nation.

During an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Nana Boahen highlighted the importance of connecting with the masses at their doorsteps. He believes that this approach will allow the NPP to effectively explain and help Ghanaians understand the underlying causes of the current economic situation.

It is prudent for the NPP to support Dr. Bawumia’s campaign strategy to better inform and make the electorate understand and appreciate his vision for the nation.

Getting in touch with the masses at their doorsteps would enable the NPP to explain and make Ghanaians understand and appreciate the causes of our economic situation now.

In fact, we have to do more, reach out to the masses and let the ordinary Ghanaian understand the reasons behind the rising trend of the dollar and the depreciation of our cedi, as well as the high cost of building materials and prices of food and commodities.

Nana Boahen acknowledged the high cost of living for regular citizens, noting that certain factors contributing to this had global implications that were outside of the government’s jurisdiction.

That is why it is necessary for the NPP to get in touch and explain some of these reasons to the masses so that the opposition would not take undue advantage, use their propaganda machinery to throw dust and make the government unpopular in the eyes of the electorate.

Nana Boahen emphasized the significance of a well-executed political electioneering campaign in order to enhance Ghanaians’ comprehension of the NPP and the government.

This approach would also serve as a safeguard against the deceptive tactics and propagandist strategies employed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Yes, we humbly accept that the current economic situation in the country is not the best; however, there are tangible reasons accounting for that.

You see, we just have six months until Election 2024, and the masses can’t feel the energetic nature of the electioneering. That is the best way to go because Dr. Bawumia’s focus is to let Ghanaians understand and seek their support for his sound economic policies.
