Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on the predominantly Muslim community of Sorbelle in the Sissala West District of the Upper West Region to continue living harmoniously with Christians and those of other faiths.
Dr. Bawumia financed and constructed a new mosque for the community, which was formally inaugurated on Saturday amidst great enthusiasm.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bawumia underscored the significance of fostering unity between Muslims and Christians in Ghana.
In our nation, we have both Christians and Muslims, and I do not differentiate because we worship the same God. assist all people. Let us persist in living harmoniously with our Christian brothers and sisters for the ongoing peace and unity of our country.
Dr. Bawumia expressed his happiness about the successful completion of the mosque and credited God for enabling it.
I am delighted today because many people believe that humans build mosques, but it is only Allah who builds mosques,” he remarked. “When I pledged to construct the mosque, I prayed to Allah for His assistance, and Allah made it possible. Therefore, I am grateful to the Almighty Allah for enabling us to build this mosque for you.
The NPP Flagbearer also stressed the importance of kindness, highlighting it as an act of devotion.
The jubilant community, led by its Paramount Chief, extended profound appreciation to Dr. Bawumia for his generosity, affirming that the mosque will draw them nearer to God.
