Dr. Henry Kwabena Kokofu, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), has emphasized that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flag bearer of the NPP, will bring about a transformation in Ghana if he assumes the presidency on December 7.
Dr. Kokofu’s unwavering confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s exceptional leadership skills underscores his belief that a victory for the NPP signifies the Ghanaian people’s faith and assurance in the vision and principles of Dr. Bawumia and the NPP administration.
Dr. Kokofu is convinced that Dr. Bawumia will establish a strong foundation for Ghana and propel the nation toward prosperity once he is President in the upcoming 2024 general elections.
During an interview with the media in Kumasi on July 9, 2024, held in conjunction with the announcement of the party’s running mate, Dr. Kokofu reiterated that the NPP is the party deserving of the electorate’s votes due to its outstanding track record in comparison to their primary rival, the NDC.
We have pledged to resolve whatever matters there are in, whatever differences or whatever shortfalls that we encounter. Dr Bawumia is prepared to reverse all those things and set the nation on a very sound footing. The ticket is solid and it’s going to help Ghana move forward.
He restated the party members’ dedication to supporting the Bawumia-NAPO ticket, promising their steadfast assistance to secure a decisive win for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the forthcoming elections.
Very much so, not to me alone, we in the Ashanti Region, we’re very grateful to the flagbearer to have considered one of us in the Ashanti Region in NPP.
We have already pledged our full support for the ticket; we will work hard to secure 80% of the votes to ensure a first-round victory for Dr Bawumia and Dr Opoku Prempeh. It’s a victory for Ghana and a victory for the NPP.
Dr. Kokofu strongly refuted allegations of NAPO being arrogant, labeling the claims as baseless and not reflective of NAPO’s true nature.
Ever since being appointed and endorsed by the National Council, the vice-presidential candidate has faced accusations of arrogance and a quick temper from various sectors of the public, including certain NPP members. Nonetheless, Dr. Kokofu maintains that such accusations are simply unrealistic and lack any factual basis.
That is a perception, people can take out of context…we’re ready to work on our weaknesses going forward. No man is infallible, once people say so, we’re going to work on it. And we will provide a vice president who is as plain as anything.
NAPO is a man you can trust; he comes on board with confidence. Normally, people confuse confidence with arrogance. You cannot run over NAPO when it matters most.
