Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has accused John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), of running away from a debate with him to shield his “empty policies” from scrutiny.
Speaking at Nalerigu, Bawumia boldly asserted that the ex-president’s reluctance to engage in a debate stems from fear that his policies would be exposed as lacking substance.
I am looking forward to a debate with John Dramani Mahama on the economy and governance, but I am afraid he is running away from a debate,” Dr. Bawumia remarked, adding, “He knows that I will expose the emptiness of his policies.
According to Dr. Bawumia, the call for a debate is not just a challenge but an opportunity for both candidates to directly present their visions to the Ghanaian electorate.
He stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in electoral discourse and expressed his readiness to engage in substantive discussions.
