Former CPP General Secretary, James Kwabena Bomfeh, expressed satisfaction with the pairing of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh for the December 7 polls.
Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as NAPO and serving as Energy Minister, was officially introduced on Tuesday, July 9, as the running mate alongside NPP presidential candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the upcoming elections.
NAPO was introduced first to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and later to the people of Kumasi in a vibrant ceremony at the Jubilee Park.
Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” panel discussion show, Kabila remarked,
I can confidently say that the Bawumia/NAPO ticket stands a strong chance of winning. Their ticket represents a unique phenomenon in our country’s politics.
However, he specifically advised Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, stating,
In the 2024 elections, you need to extend your appeal beyond just the NPP. Many of those who will contribute to your victory are not necessarily NPP members. Keep that in mind.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is currently touring the Northern Regions as part of the second phase of his nationwide campaign.
His running mate is also scheduled to embark on a campaign tour to engage with the populace and seek their support.
