Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, has appealed for the backing of the Nanung community in the forthcoming December elections.
He stressed his ability to lead for a period of eight years, in contrast to former President John Mahama, who is only eligible for a four-year term.
Dr. Bawumia implored the people to grant him the opportunity to lead the country, promising that if he does not deliver, they have the right to reject him for a second term. The Vice President conveyed these sentiments during his campaign visit to Bimbilla in the Northern region.
I am the Vice President; I’ve not been president yet and I want to plead with you, I am going to the contest with my senior John Mahama, he has been president before, and when he comes, he has only four years.
When I come, I have eight years, so, if you look at the presidency, do we want four years or eight? After four years, he won’t come but I will come for renewal, so please give me the chance, so that I can be accountable.
Nyelinbolgu Naa Dassana Andani Yakubu, the regent of Bimbilla, has vowed unwavering backing for Dr. Bawumia, recognizing the beneficial impact of the NPP administration in the area.
The regent has articulated optimism that should Dr. Bawumia emerge victorious, he will institute a healthcare facility, enhance the Bimbilla municipal hospital, institute a university, and enhance the water provision for Nanung.
