NAPO SEEKS PRAYERS AND GUIDANCE FROM THE CHIEF OF MANYA KROBO

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the vice-presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has visited the Paramount Chief of Manya Krobo Traditional Area, Nene Sakite II, to seek his prayers and counsel.

He emphasized the need for politicians to recognize the significant role that chiefs play in governance in order to promote development. Dr. Prempeh, also known as Napo, and the current Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency, stated that following his nomination as the vice-presidential candidate alongside Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, it was crucial to seek blessings and guidance from the country’s chiefs.

Without the chiefs, it would be difficult to promote national unity, stability, growth and development.

For the record, I have to say that the chiefs laid the groundwork for the nation’s independence struggles. Therefore, they must be granted the needed dignity and respect due them to avoid any conflict.

Dr Prempeh urged the residents of Manya Krobo to support the NPP in the upcoming general election to make sure their concerns are taken into account in the governance of the country.

Nene Sakite, who is also the President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, pointed out that throughout history, the chieftaincy institution has been neglected by successive administrations.

He emphasized the importance of addressing challenges raised by chiefs to the government instead of disregarding them. Nene Sakite encouraged Dr. Prempeh to maintain his respect for chiefs even if he is elected as the Vice President of the nation.

Napo” for paying homage to him and recognizing the important roles that chiefs play in governance, which proved Dr Prempeh’s royal descent.
