ACCORDING TO ASENSO-BOAKYE, THE AKUFO-ADDO/BAWUMIA GOVERNMENT HAS BUILT THREE TIMES MORE ROADS THAN THE MAHAMA ADMINISTRATION.

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has asserted that, under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, the current government has surpassed all previous administrations in Ghana’s history in terms of road construction.

Mr. Asenso-Boakye, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Bantama, highlighted President Akufo-Addo’s significant expansion of the country’s road network. During a news conference held on Thursday, July 18, Asenso-Boakye claimed that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration has built three times more roads compared to the previous Mahama administration. He supported this claim with data, stating that while the Mahama administration constructed a total of 4,636 kilometres of roads, the Akufo-Addo administration has built 12,800 kilometres.

Emphasizing these achievements, Mr. Asenso-Boakye attributed them to substantial investments made by the current government to enhance the country’s infrastructure.

He expressed his belief that the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government deserves praise for its significant contributions to Ghana’s road network.

This government has invested more in road construction than any other government and has substantially upgraded the road network, three times more than the previous administration. It is documented that between 2009 and 2016, 4,636 kilometers of roads were added to the network, whereas from 2017 to date, 12,800 kilometers of roads have been added,

he stated.
