THE NPP GOVERNMENT HAS EASED THE HARDSHIPS FACED BY THE PEOPLE OF GHANA – DR. BAWUMIA

In an assessment of the NPP government’s term, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia highlighted the substantial progress made in easing the challenges encountered by the people of Ghana.

Dr. Bawumia outlined a series of initiatives that he feels have lessened the hardships faced by Ghanaians following the NPP’s rise to power in 2017.

When you talk about suffering, for sure we have reduced suffering. You cannot say you have eliminated suffering, but compared to what we inherited from the NDC, we have reduced a lot of suffering.

He highlighted that the Free SHS initiative is providing parents with savings amounting to 2.2 billion Ghana cedis, asserting that the NPP administration is actively engaged in numerous targeted efforts to assist the citizens of Ghana.

Dr. Bawumia further rejected the NDC’s “Rescue Ghana Mission” campaign slogan, asserting that the nation was effectively rescued in 2017 when the NPP assumed power.

He also reminded the public that the NDC government sought assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2015 due to economic mismanagement.

This economy had to be rescued by the IMF. “They had to go for a rescue, that was the real rescue mission, as a price of mismanagement of this economy.”

Now you don’t understand what they mean by coming to the rescue; we have rescued the country already, and we are now building upon that.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted the reinstatement of nurses’ trainee allowances, the collapse of the Nation Builders’ Corps, and the creation of over 2 million jobs as key contributing factors.

He also compared the NPP’s achievements to the previous NDC government’s record, emphasizing the public sector employment freeze, graduate unemployment, lack of placement for trained nurses and teachers, Dumsor, and the failure to support the private sector as sources of hardship for Ghanaians before the NPP took office.

The administration remains committed to addressing these challenges, as outlined by Dr. Bawumia.
