President Akufo-Addo has donated laptops and desktop computers to the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS). This donation is a personal contribution from the president to support the university.
The donation was made on Monday, July 29, following a special congregation where UHAS conferred an honorary doctorate on him.
The computers are intended to help address the university’s needs in equipping its offices.
UHAS commended the president for his significant contribution to the growth of Ghana’s only science-focused university. The university’s management acknowledged his role in transforming the education sector through initiatives like the Free Senior High School program and STEM education.
In September 2021, the president also initiated the construction of phase two of the university, a US$60 million project funded by the Government of Ghana with support from the People’s Republic of China.
He officially commissioned the new facility, which is the university’s state-of-the-art School of Midwifery and Nursing, the largest of its kind in West Africa.
