Zongo Chiefs and Imams have organized special prayers for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer and presidential candidate, to secure victory in the upcoming December elections.
Many Muslims in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital, came together to pray earnestly to Allah for the success of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, aiming to help the NPP retain power. Alhaji Abdul Rahman Ibrahim, the New Juaben North Nasara Coordinator of the NPP, who organized the prayers, explained that the purpose was to support the NPP in winning the December polls and to safeguard Dr. Bawumia from any accidents during his tour of the Eastern Region.
In his address, the Eastern Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Yusif Amudani Sulemana, called on the youth to avoid activities that could lead to violence during and after the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections.
