EMBRACE A MINDSET OF POSSIBILITIES – BAWUMIA

The Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has encouraged Ghanaians to adopt a mindset of possibilities, harnessing their “can-do” spirit to drive economic growth and transformation.

Speaking to thousands of party supporters during the ‘Mega Ofie Walk’ at the Mampong Coronation Park in the Eastern Region, Dr. Bawumia stressed the importance of maintaining a positive outlook to achieve success.

The walk, organized by Samuel Awuku, the parliamentary candidate for Akuapim North, aimed to launch his campaign for the Akuapim North parliamentary seat and reinforce the UP tradition’s influence in the constituency.

Dr. Bawumia criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for initially dismissing innovative proposals by the NPP, only to later claim them as their own when successful. He urged the need to foster a mindset of possibilities, generating ideas to propel Ghana’s economic future.

Unlike our NDC opponents, who lack vision and believe our proposals are unattainable, we have proven them wrong. The free SHS program, which they opposed, is now in place. The drone distribution of medicines is operational. And despite their objections, One-District One-Factory is now a reality,

Dr. Bawumia noted. He urged Ghanaians to focus on possibilities rather than limitations, which he attributes to the NDC, and to embrace innovation, creativity, and hard work.

When we believe in our abilities, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve greatness,

Dr. Bawumia said. He assured the enthusiastic crowd that the NPP will continue to develop and implement innovative ideas to drive economic growth and ensure prosperity for Ghanaians, emphasizing the future of the country’s energy needs.

Dr. Bawumia announced plans to cut energy costs by 50 percent through the addition of 2000 megawatts of solar power to the energy mix and introduce electric transport systems to reduce public transport costs by 40 percent.

He also promised digital skills training for one million youth, a new tax policy, and streamlined passport applications using the Ghana Card.

With your Ghana Card, you won’t need to fill out a passport application form. Just pay the fee, and your passport will be printed since your biometric details are already available,

he said. Mr. Awuku highlighted the importance of the 2024 elections, stressing the choice between progress and stagnation.

He stated,

Elections shape the future and carry significant implications. Voting for the NDC is voting for regression. The NPP will build on the strong foundations laid by the party. We recognize the challenges Ghanaians are facing, but trust Dr. Bawumia to make a difference with the innovative policies he will introduce in the next government.

He also remarked that Ghana was fortunate to have had capable leadership during the challenging times of COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war.

The National Chairman of the NPP, Stephen Ayesu Ntim; the Chairman of the NPP Eastern Region, Jeff Konadu; the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Acheampong; and the National Women’s Organiser of the party, Kate Gyamfua, participated in the walk.

Also present were Nana Osei Agyei, NPP parliamentary candidate for New Juaben North; Michael Okyere Baafi, NPP parliamentary candidate for New Juaben South and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry; and Abena Osei Asare, Minister of State at the Finance Ministry.
