DR. BAWUMIA’S ADMINISTRATION WILL INVOLVE READITIONAL LEADERS IN COMBATING ILLEGAL MINING

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party, has affirmed that should Dr. Bawumia take office as President, the consent and participation of Chiefs will be essential prior to the initiation of any mining operations.

This initiative, he noted, is designed to safeguard the livelihoods of local communities. Dr. Prempeh made this assurance in response to concerns voiced by Denkyirahemaa Nana Ama Ayensuwa Saara III during his visit to the Denkyira Traditional Council in Dunkwa On-Offin, located in the Central Region.

He emphasized the necessity of involving Chiefs in land use decisions and highlighted the importance of ensuring that local residents have equitable access to opportunities when land is allocated for mining.

He committed that, under Dr. Bawumia’s administration, the exploitation of state authority to the detriment of local communities would be firmly opposed.

Furthermore, Dr. Prempeh promised that the ongoing road projects in the region would be completed, reflecting the advancements made in other areas.

While he acknowledged the delays in some road constructions, he expressed confidence in the timely completion of outstanding projects within the region.

Denkyirahemaa Nana Ama Ayensuwaa Saara III conveyed her trust in Dr. Prempeh, referring to him as ‘her blood’ due to familial ties with her father, and she offered prayers for his success and that of his superior in promoting Ghana’s developmental initiatives.
